1. Hold the ligature with one hand by the large adjustment knob. With your other hand unscrew and remove the small black nut opposite the knob.
2. Remove the rod opposite the knob away from the screw. To make the ligature smaller wind cord onto the rod with a 90 degree rotation and reassemble the rod onto the screw.
3. To make the ligature larger unwind cord form the rod and reassemble as in step 2.
4. Snugly reinstall the nut.
5. Use your thumb of one hand to press on on the clear plastic cord separator towards the screw. With your other hand pull the cord loops tight.
6. Rotate the knob and install the ligature.
7. Repeat until the ligature fits your mouthpiece and reed.
